Piovono critiche per l’ultimo aggiornamento per Google Nexus One, siglato Gingerbread 2.3.3 che causerebbe alcuni problemi di battery drain durante sessioni di standby del device. Un numero significativo di utenti segnalano che l’update a Gingerbread sta lasciando i loro Nexus One a corto di batteria prima del tempo, mentre il consumo in idle con Froyo era pari a circa il 2 per cento in media.

Il  consumo di energia per Android 2.3.3 sarebbe pari a circa il 40% in più in idle, quindi in stato di ibernazione e schermo spento con processi in background al minimo, rispetto alla precedente versione. Il problema sembra essere collegato al modo in cui lo smartphone e il sistema operativo operino sui servizi principali quando lo schermo si spegne e il sistema va in stand-by quindi un’errata gestione di alcuni processi.

Noi purtroppo non possiamo fare un paragano reale in quanto il nostro Nexus One è rimasto con Froyo per poche ore e quindi non abbiamo riscontri sullo standby prolungato. Voi avete notato peggioramenti?

Buone notizie per tutti i futuri possessori del nuovo LG Optimus Dual, il primo dispositivo equipaggiato con la nuova cpu dual core Nvidia Tegra 2, che a breve verrà commercializzato anche nel nostro paese. LG ha confermato che a Marzo questo dispositivo sarà commercializzato con Android Froyo 2.2.2 ma riceverà l’update ad Android Gingerbread 2.3 poco dopo il lancio. SEOUL, Mar. 1, 2010 — LG Electronics (LG) marks another milestone with the interna-tional launch of the world’s first dual-core smartphone, the LG Optimus 2X, in key European markets. The Optimus 2X, which launched in Korea in January, will be rolled-out in Europe this month.

Powered by the NVIDIA Tegra™ 2 mobile dual-core CPU, the LG Optimus 2X offers clear performance improvements in web browsing and gaming over single-core smartphones running at the same clock speed. Users get all the advantages of seamless multitasking between applications and instantaneous touch response, along with vivid graphics and console-like gaming experience.

Full HD Entertainment Package
The LG Optimus 2X offers a Full HD multimedia experience with 1080p video recording and playback. Tramite un tweet del sito tedesco SmartDroid.de apprendiamo con molta sorpresa ma speranzosi che non sia solo una notizia ufficiosa, che Samsung Galaxy S verrà aggiornato ad Android Gingerbread 2.3 dal prossimo Marzo, quindi già a partire dalla prossima settimana potrebbe essere buono ogni giorno per ricevere la notifica di update disponibile. Resta da capire se la data sia riservata solo alla clientela tedesca o se verranno coperte tutte le zone interessate.

Vedremo se il tutto risulterà vero…
